Hiking Half Dome is no walk in the park so to speak. It’s 8.5 miles one way, with 4,8000 ft. of elevation gain. There’s also the heat which easily reaches 90 degrees in the summer. And the final walk up the cables makes for an all together strenuous climb. Last thing you want to do at the top is play the bagpipes. But, never underestimate the love a Scottish man feels for his bagpipes. Here’s a video of David Quinn playing ‘Scotland the Brave’ and ‘Highland Cathedral’ at the top of Half Dome. John Muir, the most famous Scot I know after William Wallace and Sean Connery, would be proud. Via Annieander.
