The World Pipe Band Championships celebrate the very best of Scottish music, culture and dance and the event returns to Glasgow Green on 11 Aug 07.

The Worlds’ – as the event is affectionately known – has been associated with Glasgow since 1948 and is a celebration of the very best of Scottish music, culture and dance. Last year ‘The Worlds’ won the coveted Scottish Traditional Music Awards Event of the Year! This competition is truly global with over 200 bands and 8000 pipers and drummers travelling from as far afield as Eastern Europe, Australia, Canada, USA, Pakistan and New Zealand. The event culminates in a cacophony of sound and colour as thousands of pipers and drummers participate in a mass march past.
