The bagpipe featured on this month’s cover is a rather recent skill acquired by Joanne Glover. The 1969 graduate of the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists was attending a memorial service in 2001. “As I listened and watched, the spirit of it moved me, so I spoke to the piper afterwards.â€
She connected with a “teacher and supplier of all things bagpipes†and began a musical journey that led her to join a band called Creagan More.
“We perform in parades, graduations, and concerts,†she said.
