The Registration Act Comes Into Force Requiring All Catholic Priests in Ireland to Register in Court

Penal law to prevent the further growth of property restricts landholding rights for Catholics

Act of Security passed by the Scottish Parliament.

The Registration Act comes into force, requiring all Catholic priests in Ireland to:

- Register their names in court,
- Provide two bonds of £50 each as assurance for good behavior,
- And remain within the county where they are registered.

This legislation is part of the broader Penal Laws, aimed at suppressing Catholic influence and enforcing Protestant ascendancy in Ireland.
